Marshfield Child Advocacy Center

We provide a safe, neutral and child-friendly location for a child to tell their story when there are concerns of abuse.

Child Advocacy Centers use a multidisciplinary team approach to optimize child abuse investigations. During a forensic interview, a specially-trained team member asks questions of the child one on one. This is done in a non-leading, developmentally-appropriate way to gain information for the investigation.

Child Protective Services and law enforcement are present during the Child Advocacy Center visit, decreasing the number of times a child must tell their story. The child and family also receive support, crisis intervention and other care during the visit to optimize their health and begin healing.
